hi,
I am getting the following error when doing pacman -Syu:
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
warning: dependency cycle detected:
warning: rhino will be installed before its jre7-openjdk-headless dependency
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: openjdk6 and jre7-openjdk-headless are in conflict
I had openjdk7 (+ headless) and rhino installed, but I uninstalled them all and installed openjdk6 (cos 7 is incompatible with a lot of programs I use).
Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of this error? I don't even remember what rhino is or what I needed it for.
thanks

Are you sure you removed rhino? Seems that something wants to install jre7-openjdk-headless.

pacman -R says:
error: 'rhino': target not found
so I think it is removed. I am not sure though since I am new to arch. is there any other way to check if somethin is installed?

'man pacman' will show you the proper way:
[karol@black ~]$ pacman -Q rhino
error: package 'rhino' was not found
Anyway, it's not rhino, something else wants to pull jre7-openjdk-headless.
Which of your packages use java-runtime (openjdk6)?

eclipse, maven3 for sure
and maybe minecraft.
first time I installed eclipse and maven3 I installed them with openjdk7. after removing opnejdk7 I uninstalled all of them and reinstalled them (with openjdk6). I have no problems besides the pacman update.
