[SOLVED] hplip-plugin not recognized

Hi everyone,

I got problems getting hplip-plugin to work like intended.
I installed hplip from extra and hplip-plugin from AUR. Yet hp-setup still complains that it needs a plugin to install my printer.
What do I need to do to get hp-setup/hp-plugin to recognize the plugin as installed?

Hi Chais,

What printer ?
What version of hplip and hplip-plugin are you using ? (there was an update some days ago)

Re: [SOLVED] hplip-plugin not recognized

Printer is a HP LaserJet Professional m1217nfw. I did the update, that's why I noticed. So version is 3.12.2. I tried to reinstall the printer to hopefully get scan support.

Re: [SOLVED] hplip-plugin not recognized

Got it working now. After I had /usr/bin/python point to python2 instead of python3 the plugin_install.py would run automatically.
Allowing to download the plugin anew resulted in it also fetching the hplip.conf. Then the plugin was recognised as installed. Possibly the PKGBUILD needs to be updated.
