Recently, any mouse I plug into my laptop doesn't work. My built-in touch pad works just fine. I've tried searching the internet and these forums and can't find anyone with a similar issue. When I insert a USB mouse (I have tried several), /var/log/messages.log shows:

I wonder if the usb port is failing. Can you plug a usb keyboard in and have it work? Does a usb stick work?
You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. I did try it in the other three USB ports, and no difference. The mouse works when I boot into Windows. I have tried USB flash drives, and they work just fine.
