I need help, I just put together a Sandy Bridge system (i3 2120T, 8GB ram, H61 mobo) and while everything mostly works, I'm having a weird issue with keyboard and mouse input... about once a second there will be a brief (maybe 1/3 of a second) hiccup/pause in the input.
This can be easily seen by trying to use the mouse in X -- it works, but it's jerky and a pain to use. This can also be seen without X, just sitting at the console and holding down a key and watching the character repeat on the screen, about once a second there will be a short pause. (This can also be seen when holding down backspace to delete a long string, the same short pause occurs every second or so)
I'm kind of at my wits end with this. I tried installing Win7 on another drive and that seems to work fine, so I don't think it's a purely hardware issue. So far I've tried disabling speed step, hyper threading, and anything else CPU or energy related. cpufreq-info claims I'm running in performance mode on all cores. The only other thing I've noticed is even at idle, top shows kworker/0:0 and kworker/1:1 each consuming about 18% cpu.
For what it's worth, I've been using the latest most up to date installs of Arch possible, including the new kernel that pacman just installed this morning. Still having the same problem. Any advice or help would be really really appreciated!!

Aren't Sandy Bridge the ones that had discovered a bug just recently? Probably not related to your problem however. Is your motherboard in its' best condition? Sounds like something is tying up the processor momentarily. Can you run any program that might give a test as the functionality of the system as a whole?
Try a memtest86+ and see if the speeds are acceptable.
