Hi, I have an Comfor PC, BIOS version GC11020M.86A.1074.2006.0810.1357
When I try to boot any distro with kernel ↑2.6.38, it freezes early showing something about [PBTN] Power Button discovered. nor acpi=ht neither acpi_os_name="Microsoft Windows XP" (2000, 2006, NT) doesnt work. I tried to recompile DSDT table from older kernel version, but no /proc/acpi/dsdt was here. What am I supposed to do?
Edit: Gentoo LiveDVD somehow boots, but /proc/acpi is empty, so i suppose, it turned acpi off automatically
Edit2: I've had problem with ata too, computer freezed shortly after bootup. I googled for it (but i can't find it now) and found, that i must append noapic to my command line. Can this affect the /proc/acpi/dsdt file missing? nolapic works too, but pci=nomsi doesn't.
I also have Windoze installed on it, is there any chance of getting the dsdt table from Windoze?

Turn off hyper threading in bios (if possible) then boot without acpi=off . If this works you will need to add blacklist processor to your /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf . Then go back and enable HT in the bios and it should boot without acpi=off .

Thanks! I didnt have such an option, but i booted with acpi=off, then I blacklisted processor and then rebooted again. But it's showing me that I have only one core (thats logicall). But I have two and thus my computer will be slower in some multi-thread-oriented apps. Can I enable it back plus allow it to boot?
