[SOLVED]How to multi-quote in Arch Linux Forum?

Hello,

I did a quick search of forum/wiki but have no idea how to Multi-Quote in Arch Linux forum. Can it be done?

Thanks.

PS: For some reason I am not able to start a thread in TGN. Is TGN like community forum for off-topic discussions?

When I want to use nested quoting, I mark it up by hand...

TGN is where threads are sent to die by the mods smile

Not really sure about what you mean by 'mark it up by hand'.

Add the necessary \[quote\] tags myself...

Re: [SOLVED]How to multi-quote in Arch Linux Forum?

I rarely bother to manually add the quote tags. You can press the "Quote" link at the bottom of the more recent post and cut-paste them at the begging of each message. Much faster this way... It can be done with a few Ctrl+X's. You'll obviously need to hit Back a few times, or you could use the middle mouse button (pressing on the scroll wheel) to open the quotes in a new tab and work your way up from there.

Anyway, nested quotes are for... simple people. They pile up and unnecessarily increase the topic's vertical size. Just quote the last person, or simply state their name at the beginning, like:

donniezazen, please don't add the whole Encyclopaedia Britannica to your posts.

PS: This should probably be in the "Forum & Wiki discussion" category.

I have made a personal commitment not to reply in topics that start with a lowercase letter. Proper grammar and punctuation is a sign of respect, and if you do not show any, you will NOT receive any help (at least not from me).
