Hi!
I compiled a custom kernel, the traditional way. I prefer this, its more raw. I prefer not to use initramfs, in order to be faster. The kernel boots, root device is found (finally - though it was hard). It even gets to loading modules.
Though, while booting, many errors happen, which I can't read, it does everything too fast. When I boot into maintenance mode (single option), I can see my root partition, but no others are mounted: Even swap is missing! The logs aren't touched so I can't find anything useful there.
I already managed to compile a kernel this way on an HP Pavilion dv5-1060eh.
This one is a Samsung RV509 notebook.
How would you debug this?

Maybe a warning should be put into the wiki page of kernel compilation for those who try compiling vanilla kernels?
