[SOLVED] going from ahci mode to ide mode...

I installed arch while my bios was in ahci mode. Now I want to switch to ide mode in my bios, but when I boot arch, it tells me it cannot find the root volume group... I am guessing something is messed up with the kernel drivers, but I am not quite sure where to start.

I could just reinstall everything, but that would not be very elegant. Anyone know where I have to look to fix this?

Thanks!

I think you need to recreate your initramfs in ide mode. Can you boot the fallback kernel when your bios is set to ide, and then issue a

# mkinitcpio -p linux

?

Is there a reason why you'd prefer IDE over AHCI?
