[SOLVED]Error while building kernel. `No space left on device`

Hi everyone!
              I have a hp notebook with 8GB memory. So I need build a kernel with pae. I build it from aur. Like : `yaourt pae` and I chose that

" aur/linux-pae 3.2.6-2 (126)
    The Linux kernel and modules with PAE support (HIGHMEM64G)
"

              But it said :

"/usr/bin/strip:/tmp/yaourt-tmp-madper/aur-linux-pae/pkg/linux-pae-headers/usr/src/linux-3.2.6-2-pae/scripts/basic/stY42aEg[.rodata]: No space left on device
/usr/bin/strip:/tmp/yaourt-tmp-madper/aur-linux-pae/pkg/linux-pae-headers/usr/src/linux-3.2.6-2-pae/scripts/basic/stY42aEg: No space left on device
"

So I use `df` to show my disk's infomation:

madper/tmp$df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
rootfs         117016740  6319764 104837672   6% /
/dev             1519920        0   1519920   0% /dev
/run             1521460      344   1521116   1% /run
/dev/sda6      117016740  6319764 104837672   6% /
shm              1521460     1592   1519868   1% /dev/shm
tmpfs            1521460  1480912     40548  98% /tmp
/dev/sda5         283555    26792    242122  10% /boot
/dev/sda8      284472888 79039932 191193148  30% /home

I haven't mount any disk on /tmp.  I want know How can I complete it easily.
                                                                 Thank you very much!

Well /tmp is in use for 98%, that doesn't look good, really....

I have a feeling you're trying to fix a non-existing problem though. Why not go x86_64 on that system? You can still install a minimal i686 setup for e.g. Wine if you really need it.

$ LANG=C df /tmp
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
tmpfs           3.0G   56K  3.0G   1% /tmp
$ free -m
             total used free shared buffers cached
Mem:          5972       1278       4693          0         46        584
-/+ buffers/cache:        648       5323
Swap:            0          0          0
$ uname -a
Linux okeanos 3.2.6-2-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 16 10:10:02 CET 2012 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 980 Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

6 GB RAM here, no problems wink.

+1 to B's suggestion.

If you want, you can tell yaourt to build somewhere else, use --tmp commandline switch or edit /etc/yaourtrc, uncomment and change

#TMPDIR="/tmp"

to somewhere else.
