Hi all--
So, whenever I'm trying to connect to any network over my wlan0 interface using netcfg, even if the network profile is configured for no security, it still tries to use WPA, leading to the infamous "WPA authentication/association failed [FAIL]"
I have both wpa_supplicant and wpa_actiond installed.
Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have different profiles for each AP/SSID in /etc/network.d?
Have you looked at /etc/network.d/examples?
I have a profile for my home router using WPA2 and one for a public hotspot. I use $ sudo netcfg-menu to select which one to use.

Yes, I have actually created a number of profiles (I've tried this on a number of networks), some using no encryption, while others use WPA2. None of them worked. Ultimately, I completely uninstalled netcfg (used wicd as sort of an auxiliary wifi manager) and reinstalled it. This seems to have fixed the problem, but I'm a little irate that I couldn't figure it out the first time. I will post back if the problem crops up again.
