Is anyone interested in forming a PyWeek team?

http://www.mechanicalcat.net/tech/PyWeek/1

Anyone want to form a team? Could be fun.

Any ideas?

Re: Is anyone interested in forming a PyWeek team?

I would be interested in joining.

In terms of game ideas, i was thinking something simple but addicting, I was thinking of maybe a multiplayer type armagetron game, but from an overhead view (think nibbles). Or possibly jezzball.

Re: Is anyone interested in forming a PyWeek team?

Ok, well from what i've read.. it doesnt have to be completed by the end of the week, but there must be something working to show that it is possible to be completed, and has promise.

multiplayer armagetron I think is currently in development form one of the armagetron games.

Jezzball is alright... but somehow I dont think it'd be a winner unless we did something interesting with it.

Multiplayer pacman was a concept a friend and I came up with a while ago. That'd be fun. And it'd go with arch perfectly wink

Dusty was considering redoing Ensmer in python. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding redoing things like that, but building ensmer in python, in a form to make it usable for games of some sort could be interesting too.

Just remember, you can talk about the idea as much as you like, but not write a line of code untill then. Of course... I dont think planning is out of the question smile

Any more people?

I would also be interested.

I know some python, ive done apps under Tkinter and Wxpython.  I dont have much experience with pygame except for attempting to edit a Pong game some time ago, added sound to it and did other small changes, was trying to add multiplayer, but forgot about it and started doing GUI programming instead. Check out my website http://borkdox.webhop.net/ it is down right now, but it will be up later on today.

The idea of the multiplayer pacman sounds nice. If it is going to be 2D, using isometric pixel art will be really good http://rhysd.syntesis.org/tutorial/index.php, what do you think?  3D is also an option, much more complex, but could also be done, i dunno if in a week tough....

Or maybe something like 'capture the pacflag' where we have two teams the little pacman eaters and the pacmans, they try to capture each other flags and get into the exit or center spot, while they have the flag their are vurnerable. maybe having powerups that gives a player the power to eat another for x amount of time.

what do u guys think??

Tabs or spaces? wink

Sounds very interesting actually. Too bad I'm not proficient enough with Python.

I have to withdraw. I hope someone else can continue the effort.
