Asus Xonar DG with OSSv4

Ok, so I just got this card today and I can't seem to get output from it.  Oss detects the card and loads a module, but check this out:

The USB audio is my onboard sound, which I already disabled in the bios.  To me it looks as if there is a conflict here, but I'm not sure how to keep it from detecting my onboard sound,

Also, I tried Alsa, and it did not detect the card at all, and I would prefer OSS anyway.

And another note:  I see levels when I open ossxmix, but I'm not hearing anything.  Anyone else have this problem?  It's working fine in Windows, so I know it's not a hardware issue.

Re: Asus Xonar DG with OSSv4

I found how to disable the usb audio driver from loading, still no dice:

Nodes
  /dev/dsp -> /dev/oss/oss_cmi878x0/pcm0
  /dev/dsp_in -> /dev/oss/oss_cmi878x0/pcm0
  /dev/dsp_out -> /dev/oss/oss_cmi878x0/pcm0
  /dev/dsp_ac3 -> /dev/oss/oss_cmi878x0/pcm0
  /dev/dsp_mmap -> /dev/oss/oss_cmi878x0/pcm0
  /dev/dsp_multich -> /dev/oss/oss_cmi878x0/pcm0

I might return it and get a better card that's supported in OSS sad  unless anyone has some ideas.  I get levels in ossxmix, just no output.

there are several devices

# cd /dev/oss/oss_cmi878x0/
[root@defcon1 oss_cmi878x0]# ls
mid0  mix0  pcm0  pcm1

pcm0 shows up as Multichannel and pcm1 is SPDIF

Device objects
 0: osscore0 OSS core services
 1: oss_cmi878x0 Asus Xonar (unknown) interrupts=25078 (30895)

MIDI devices (/dev/midi*)
0: CMI8788 UART (MIDI port 1 of device object 1)

Mixer devices
 0: CMedia CMI8788 (Mixer 0 of device object 1)

Audio devices
Asus Xonar (unknown) (MultiChannel) /dev/oss/oss_cmi878x0/pcm0 (device index 0)
Asus Xonar (unknown) (SPDIF) /dev/oss/oss_cmi878x0/pcm1 (device index 1)

Re: Asus Xonar DG with OSSv4

Ok I got it to work, sorta, with alsa.  I had a package installed that seemed to be conflicting with the kernel drivers, removing that got some functionality, but to have a volume control you also have to install pulseaudio.  I think I am still going to send this card back and get something that has more support.  I am thinking about either an Asus Xonar DS/DX or HT Omega Striker.  Has anyone had experience with either of these?  I had originally planned to get the Xonar DX but cheaped out and got this DG.
