xmonad depends on ghc?

I'm curious why xmonad depends on the haskell compiler. I thought it was a prebuilt package? This slaps on an additional half GB to what would be a small install.

think haskell compiler is needed because xmonad will be recompiled on the fly when you change settings. read this here.
