Hello
I have installed latest fglrx 12.1 from amd website.
The problem is after install, I cannot open video files as KDE crashes as soon as i try to open them. I tried VLC and mplayer, both crash the whole kde at startup and kde restarts.
But they do work when i start mplayer with '-vo gl' switch.
I have tried reinstalling KDE but it didn't work.
Also i have tried uninstalling fglrx and videos play fine with open source driver.
Please tell me how i can provide more detailed information.
My system specs:
Core i7 860
AMD radeon 5850
4GiB ram
Thanks in advance

this is a known bug in fglrx. just change video output to something else than xv.
vlc: preferences -> video -> output -> e.g. opengl
smplayer: preferences -> general -> video -> output driver -> e.g. gl (fast)
systemd is like pacman. enjoys eating up stuff.

i solved all problems (for example skype webcam from incoming calls, mplayer, etc) by adding theese lines in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Section "Extensions"
Option "XVideo" "Disable"
EndSection
p.s. sorry for my english bye
