[SOLVED] handling of dotfiles

I know that in the case of application upgrades pacman handles the new /etc/ configuration files through making of pacnew files. But what about the configuration dotfiles in the home folder (.htoprc, .mozilla etc.)? As far as I know dotfiles are left as they are. So, if the new version of the application introduces some new configuration options, is it a problem that the app would still have to use the same dotfile over and over again? Are the new configuration options of the upgraded app included automatically in its dotfile?

Re: [SOLVED] handling of dotfiles

pacman only deals with files that are included in the package. Some configs are, others are created only after the package is installed - pacman doesn't touch these files and it's up to the user to keep them up to date, create or remove them.
