problem w/ ion

I did
pacman -S ion
everything went ok, started x with ion, no problems.
But after reboot and startx, ion refuses to start.
Then I do
pacman -S ion
again, and ion works...

Re: problem w/ ion

I have no idea what your problem could be but maybe first try ion3 from AUR's community repo (and don't forget to vote :-)).

Re: problem w/ ion

It's solved now and it's quite silly actually: I forgot to comment out my previous wm from xinitrc... so both were loading.

As for ion, I'm very impressed so far. I prefer it over windowlab. I also had a quick glance at wmi wich I find interesting but IMHO has some small graphical glitches.

Cheers

Re: problem w/ ion

I forgot:
Links (text mode) won't start in ion.It was working fine before.
Perhaps someone who is running Links in ion might give me a hint...

Re: problem w/ ion

It works fine here (ion-3ds-2005728). I didn't have to change anything. I imagine any problems with links would have more to do with your terminal emulator than anything else. Have you tried it in windowlab?

Yes, and it was working fine.
Anyway I only installed ion a couple of days ago. I'm still finding my way around.
Do you run links graphic mode as well?
Mine claims not to find fb driver in /usr/bin but it's there, I've check it.
I compiled mine w/ the PKGBUILD otions:

--without-x --without-sdl

perhaps I should have skipped the first option...
Links man pages are too concise I guess I might as well fiddle w/ its conf files some more.
