Re: ipw2000 not work

For me:

1. Remove 'ipw2200' in MODULES in rc.conf  (If there).
2. Add 'blacklist ipw2200' in /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf
3. Add '/sbin/modprobe ipw2200' in /etc/rc.local

After that you should be able to bring up the network with that card and driver.

Re: ipw2000 not work

Are you able to connect with an open network? You are aware of the programs you need - iwconfig/iw, ifconfig/ip, dhcpcd/dhclient - and how to handle them?

Re: ipw2000 not work

Standard procedure: open network to rule out an encryption issue. You connect using the standard command line tools, not the GUI frontend that hides everything for you.

Then you test the other stuff.

Re: ipw2000 not work

mmm.. I have bad news (for me..):
I used a cd-live to boot 2 times(Ubuntu and Sabayon), both distributions have same problem with the connection.
The connection is established but after some minutes ( [5,10) ) It falls.

So I think that my problem is an Hardware problem!

Don't Think?

Re: ipw2000 not work

It can be a lot of things. Bad hardware, bad signal, ... Only way to know is to swap out components - the AP and the wireless card.
