BluRay Host key / Certificate revoked by drive

I know that BluRay playback under Linux is still in very early stage right now, but I was wondering if someone here could help decipher an error message I am getting from VLC 2 and MythTV 0.24
when trying to play a non BD+ BluRay.  I have installed libbluray, libaasc, and aacskeys packages on my system as well as having VLC 2 and MythTV installed and configured correctly.  As far as
the Wiki page goes I have tried both the "Fast & Simple" and the fall back method of getting a KEYDB.cfg file and using aacskeys tool to generate
the required information and manually add it to the KEYDB.cfg file.  Both methods have failed me, all VLC has to say about it is that I don't have any keys, and from MythTV I get a little bit more useful
error:

libaacs/mmc.c:544: Host key / Certificate has been revoked by your drive ? (0x90d4410)
libaacs/mmc.c:614: Unable to read VID from drive! (0x90d4410)

Anyone have an clues?  The drive plays audio CDs and DVDs just fine so I know my drive is not dead.

Hi,

This happened to me: you probably inserted a "new" Blu-ray in the drive, which revoked the publicised host key and certificate. Unfortunately thee is no cure for this, until I assume a new key/certificate is published. Until then, you can try makemkv, which unfortunately is not free.

Note the processing keys are revokable, but not the vuks. See:

As far as I understand, this is how the commercial software work: they maintain a list of VUKs to bypass the need to use processing keys. The processing keys were extracted from software players (powerdvd) but they do not work anymore. So the only solution for a drive which has revoked processing keys is to use the VUKs:
0x<unit key file hash> = Film Title    | V | 0x<volume unique key>

Look in the Doom9 forum for these keys (try to find the one corresponding to your disk) and try adding them to your KEYDB file. I am trying to do this on my side. Please report if this works.

Hi, please download again the KEYDB.cfg file. It has been updated (not by me!). Do not play a MKB v30 disc though...
