VLC crashes when changing episodes

When I'm watching a DVD, and try to play a new episode after the first one is finished, VLC crashes with the following error:

Assertion 'pthread_setspecific(t->key, userdata) == 0' failed at pulsecore/thread-posix.c:247, function pa_tls_set(). Aborting.
