Don’t know if I am doing this properly, but here goes :
I just noticed that file reported the same name for my kernel as uname, and thought you might have issues with the kernel itself. That's obviously not the case.
But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist.

Have you tried editing/confirming the grub entry during boot? I'm not 100% on this, but the fact that your dmesg contained
Command line: root=/dev/disk/by-label/archroot roafter you changed the line to
root=/dev/disk/by-label/archroot ro rootdelay=5 ...seems fishy.

Montague: yes i have both kernels installed.
P.s., is it possible that you have multiple bootloaders and/or configs on your system, and you are actually editing the wrong one?
