What can i do? Can the fix also included in the archlinux kernel?
Kind Regards

I'm suspecting I might have this issue too... Though it is hard to say as that bug report seems to cover a lot of different things. Are they all really the same bug? (Genuine question: I don't know how these things work.) I don't have issues on boot or suspend but I have a lot of problems with VGA connect and disconnect. And this is a fairly serious problem given how I use my laptop.

After the recent intel driver update, my laptop also freeze when I connect an external display on the display port. I have to connect it first via VGA, than i can connect it via the display port by change the input source of my external display.

I've identified the source of the freeze problem, but will open a different thread for it.
The problem decriped in the start post still exists.

Could you post a link here? I can't seem to find the other post.

Does anyone have any further information on this issue. As it seems it is resolved in the Kernel used by Ubuntu since 2011-11-28. I don't know anything about the internals handling this, but would it be possible to apply the "Ubuntu patch" (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/812638) to the arch kernel?

Hello everybody,
by accident I stumbled upon this thread and I am quite happy that I am not alone with this issue. Since the fix mentioned in launchpad.net didn't solve the problem for me either I created a bugreport on the Kernel Bug Tracker some time ago.
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42873
Unfortunaltely this (very nasty) bug doesn't get much attention, so maybe you could submit some further information on bugzilla to raise the issue and get it fixed quickly.
