One can put the archlinux iso onto a USB flash drive using dd. But this means a 700MB UDF partition on the USB drive, wasting a lot of space. I tried to add a partition using the leftover space using fdisk, but it seems to interfere with booting the install media properly. As a result, I usually have to wipe the USB stick after installation to reclaim it.
Is there a way to resize the partition filesystem after flashing the install media? Also thinking out loud: doesn't having a bigger partition allow one to potentially customizing the live media by replacing the various squashfs (*.sfs) or would that not work?
Cheers!
