Hi all,
Basically I'm a complete moron, and I absentmindedly did
pacman -R pacman
and said y to it's confirmation.
Only the next second did I realise what just came out of my fingers. (I was supposed to remove a completely different package, and I've typed the word "pacman" so much in the past hour!)
Is there anything I can do to recover this machine? It has no CD drive, but does have USB ports.
Thanks for any help. ![]()

This should help:

You probably want to ensure you've got a backup of the packages installed first:

just get the pacman package from the mirror, extract it into / and do pacman -Sf pacman
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Thanks for the links! I'm trying to run the log2pkglist.awk script but I'm not getting any output at all. The pacman.log file is certainly fulla stuff thought.
I'm not familiar with awk so I'm not really sure what the problem is.
[edit]
Don't worry, I extracted pacman from my cache and it seemed to remember everything anyway! Thanks you guys, phew~
