Re: zathura - a document viewer

Hello

I have just updated arch, hence zathura, on my laptop and installed zathura-pdf-poppler. Everything works well (thanks to the developpers, zahtura is brilliant as ever). However clicking on a link with the button1 of my touchpad still doesn't cause zathura to follow this link, although this button is recognized (for example ":map <Button1> rotate" works as expected). Am I doing something wrong?

And also, I enjoy that it is now possible to copy the content of an area in the cliboard by selecting it with the mouse, but I wonder if it would be possible to copy it in the other clipboard (I don't know its name, I mean the clipboard used by <C-c> in firefox, leafpad, and other common programs).

Thanks,
LuX

Re: zathura - a document viewer

I updated zathura, but I have some problems

PageUp and PageDown are not working anymore.

Also where the options for coloring the ui removed?
In the documentation and code I found nothing.

set default_bgcolor "#002b36"
set statusbar_bgcolor "#002b36"
set statusbar_fgcolor "#268bd2"

map <PageUp> scroll full_up
map <PageDown> scroll full_down

See: http://pwmt.org/projects/zathura/options/

Girara settings

Most of the options affecting the appearance of zathura are derived from the options that are offered by our user interface library called girara and can be found in its documentation. Those values can also be set via the zathurarc file.

Best regards

It seems to be ignoring my statusbar-{b,f}g settings. My zathurarc:

# zathurarc

# colors
set statusbar-bg #000000
set statusbar-fg #CC0000
set default-fg #FFFFFF
set default-bg #000000

# settings
#set height 1024
#set width 768
#set adjust_open width

# key bindings
map u scroll half-up
map q quit

... and yet my statusbar still has white writing instead of red. Screenshot:

dBCPR.png

It still looks like this when I change default-fg to #FF0000 instead of #FFFFFF.

FTFY.

Also, use imgur. Postimage doesn't load for me. (not IP, not ISP DNS, OpenDNS or Google's DNS)

Put color codes in between double quotes:

set statusbar-bg "#000000"

or make sure to escape the hash key.

Haha, thanks man. I wasn't expecting much as postimage seems to work for others. But no matter what I do; (changing DNS or directly using the IP) I get 404s.

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Is there any way to make it behave like before the upgrade so only one page is shown at once? Ideally, there would be some way to switch at runtime, but I can't find anything. Also, the title bar now only shows "zathura" and not the name of the document. This makes it more difficult to keep track of multiple documents open simultaneously.

Re: zathura - a document viewer

One question.

I really loved the 'remember last location' feature in zathura. After my update, it seems it no longer does this.

I see that the bookmarks file in ~/.local/share/zathura contains details before the upgrade, and the book opens with first page.

the ~/.config/zathura folder is empty, and there is no /etc/zathurarc.

Please point me in the right direction if I need to enable this setting somewhere. Thanks! smile

Not yet.

Implemented in the develop version.

This should work just fine; maybe you can try and remove your old files.

Thos files do not exist by default.

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Hm, somehow 0.1.1-4 (and also git [commit 3bc6224976a814a442dcd25cba8aab5ec78c514e] seems to break my <S-Space> mapping:

map <S-<Space>> scroll full-up

doesnt give me a full-up anymore but full-down.

The same goes for '<S-Space>' (as recommended in zathura-git’s zathurarc manpage)

I guess this isn’t supposed to be so?

Thanks for the improvements and continuing work on the project!

Hm, this is  my zathurarc (I even copied your text into it to try it again) where it doesn’t work.

Again I tried with git and had the same problem there… strange strange.

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Hello,

Earlier (non girara version of zathura), I submitted a "patch" to prevent blinking.
Could you guys add it again?

Strom wrote:

When going from one page to another in non fullscreen mode, or when switching back to the workspace Zathura is open, Zathura's window is blinking (the window is briefly white). As I am using a dark background environment, it is a bit annoying. Here is was I add to my PKGBUILD to get rid of it:

sed -i '477igtk_widget_modify_bg(GTK_WIDGET(Zathura.UI.window), GTK_STATE_NORMAL, &(Zathura.Style.recolor_lightcolor));' zathura.c
sed -i '478igtk_widget_modify_bg(GTK_WIDGET(Zathura.UI.viewport), GTK_STATE_NORMAL, &(Zathura.Style.recolor_lightcolor));' zathura.c

Would it be possible to patch the source?

I guess the file and line where to add these lines as changed though...

I deleted the bookmarks and history files. Now when I opened any file with zathura again, those files got recreated, but they are both empty after I closed the file.

Needless to say, the file still opens with first page.

Please let me know if I'm missing something. Thanks!

Definitely nothing like that for me.

Is it correct that you cannot open this with zathura?

Please post copy-paste of everything from when you start zathura to when it segfaults.

I can’t confirm that neither. I’m currently writing a paper using latex-box’s auto refresh features and zathura (community version, not git) loads the new version w/o segfaulting.

However, the scrollposition changes to the beginning of the current page instead of where it was before. Since this worked with the previous zathura versions, I hope it will change with further evolution of the poppler-plugin.

Re: zathura - a document viewer

I searched zathuras bug tracker for segfault issue and found this: http://bt.pwmt.org/view.php?id=136. So I've uninstalled zathura-ps and everything is alright now...

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Hi, I was unable to open one of my pdf's after the latest update, so I installed zathura-pdf-poppler. I can open the file now, but it's much slower than it was before and the page numbering no longer works in the same way. For example, the command "140G" used to take me to the page marked 140 in the pdf; now it takes me to the page marked 140 by zathura's page counter. In addition, zathura seems to be much slower now.

This is because labels neither the auto-detection nor the general support has been implemented in the plugins.  So at the moment you can just jump to the pages defined by their index in the document.

Regarding your speed issue; can you give some more details, because I do not experience any performance issues compared to the older version; of course we are rendering more pages (since we support continuous pages).

Re: zathura - a document viewer

How to turn off the continuous view so that when I'm at the fit page height view I can press scroll down once to get onto the next page?
There's also a problem with that view that when you zoom in from fit height to fit width, you end up on completely different page. In example, fit height page 4 drops to the bottom of page 1 when switched to fit width.
