udev shutdown computer on new hardware

I was recently have a discussion on physical computer security and how things like the firewire port can be used to dump the computer's ram. I was wondering if using udev rules to shutdown the computer if any new hardware was connected after I unlock the encrypted disks would stop this kind of attack and similar attacks?
