the meaning of the final "d" on daemons in rc.conf
Why some daemons like cron and ntp have the final d and for example networkmanager bluetooth gdm and others not? What's the difference?

I think the 'd' meant to signify a daemon, but it seams it not a universal convention.

The d is supposed to differentiate between daemon and non-daemon versions of a program, I believe.
