Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

With evolution 3.3.92 while trying to grab info from my google calendar account, after I typed my password, got this in terminal

(evolution:2496): e-data-server-ui-WARNING **: Le trousseau de clés est inutilisable : pas de nom d'hôte ou d'utilisateur

Translation :

(evolution: 2496): e-data-server-ui-WARNING **: The keyring is unusable: no host name or user

Known bug ? Don't know against which component bug needs to be filled sad

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

I got problems with the newest build, especially in the top right corner. I don't see the nm-applet and have problems with the system menu. There is no suspend button anymore, but a shut-down button that doesn't work. I can shut-down und suspend just fine with the commandline, so it's not a kernel problem.
Is this a common problem? I use systemd, can this cause the problems?

sounds like gdm 3.3.92 doesn't quite work with systemd. can you try to do pacman -S extra/gdm and see if your system is working after?

i see that there is a process that is using 100% CPU
ephy-profile-migrator EPHY_LOG_MODULES=ephy-profile 8P??X ?t)??t)?e.SessionManager   ?? ? ?V??? ??,?\$??D$<??????ä?? ?t$??|$????Ð???r???u??B???f???<?\$,??????è?? ?V??? ? xn? ??{? 8P??

after killing that, epiphany starts. I'm waiting for  epiphany 3.3.92 to see if is fixing the problem. If not, we should report it.

also no nm-applet here...

using systemd? See above

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

hello wonder,
downgrading gdm brings back nm-applet...
killing that epiphany profile migrator makes epiphany start... but this problem started only today after glib2 update...
best, marijus

btw: yes using systemd here

After the downgrade it is working. Everything seems fine for now. Thanks for the hint. Is it a known bug?

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

@steffinger everything should work fine now in 3.3.92-2 and you might need to downgrade polkit to extra since i removed the one from [gnome-unstable]

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

@wonder: Thank you for your work. From what I can see now, everything works. It's just, that the startup seems slow. But I think there is some heavy work going on in respect of systemd-gnome integration.

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

In tracker, I get this error message, "Call to gst_discoverer_discover_uri() failed: Your GStreamer installation is missing a plug-in. "

I used to get my files in gnome documents before the upgrade to gnome 3.4. But now, none of my local files are displayed in gnome documents. Any idea?

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

For evolution part, it was the same during 3.2 beta / rc time. Now, after I completely reinstalled from scratch my archlinux (my older version was dirty), I've got problem with evolution and gnutls (Evolution 3.2.x) since gnutls was upgraded.

then you should really report this upstream to evolution.

report all bugs, don't ignore them. Only doing that we can have a stable release.

Was wondering : could a rebuild of gnome-keyring (or the dependency related to evolution) help a little here ?!
