Keyboard layout weirdness on USB keyboard

Hello everybody,

I have a little problem with my USB keyboard layout... This is my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/05-keymap.conf:

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "Keyboard Defaults"
        MatchIsKeyboard "true"
        Option "XkbLayout" "de"
EndSection

I have an USB keyboard connected to my notebook. In /var/log/Xorg.0.log everything looks like the keyboard layout is configure correctly, but the USB keyboard still has US layout.
Now the weirdness: As soon as I press a single key on the notebook's built in keyboard (which requires to open the lid) the USB one switches layout to German as well and everything is fine.

Any ideas what goes wrong and how to get German layout without pressing a button on the built in keyboard?

Best regards,
Chris

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mkinitcpio#HOOKS

Mit den Einstellungen läuft meine Tastatur am Laptop.

I did not know this as I prefer English documentation. wink
However this is exactly what I have...

I do have these hooks. I do not have any problems (with both keybords) in console (tty1 to tty6) and even in initrd it works perfectly. The only problem is Xorg changing the layout for second keyboard (to the correct settings) after pressing a key on the first one.
