Hello, I wonder why I cant upgrade my pacman to <3.5
when I try to download anything it asks if I want to upgrade pacman, I click y,
but when it tries to download it says this:
[root@Nnoitra gilga-nnoitra]# pacman -Suy
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
:: The following packages should be upgraded first :
pacman
:: Do you ant to cance the current operation
:: and upgrade these packages now? [Y/n] y
resolving dependecies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: package-query: requires pacman<3.6
:: pyalpm: requires pacman<3.6and if I dont choose to upgrade, it says the same thing, atleast from resolving depencies part it says same thing, i do not have any more information to give you right now, and just so you know I am new to arch.
I did the very same thing yesterday on my other computer that have arch as a guest operating system, and it worked then, but now it wont work on a computer that have arch as a main operating system.
thank you for taking your time trying to help me solve this

package-query is an AUR package. Remove it, upgrade and then reinstall it.
However, please check your mirrors before updating and make sure they are up-to-date.

how do I check if my mirrors are up-to-date?
I will uninstall it, then reinstall it, but do you know if pyalpm is a package from AUR to? or if it is something else?

$ pacman -Ss pyalpm
extra/pyalpm 0.5.3-1 [installed]
Libalpm bindings for PythonThe link to the mirror tools is on the homepage under Tools. I was a little concerned about the age of your mirrors with the refernece to pacman 3.5 as 4.0.2 is in core.
edit: make sure you read the link supplied by azleifel.
