Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

Fed up with networkmanager 0.9.3.997-1 spamming my /var/log/errors.log because I want to use IPv6.

It makes every big process (like rebuilding a development version of firefox) nearly impossible.

For example :

Mar 21 15:12:40 localhost kernel: [ 4641.331415] INFO: rcu_preempt detected stalls on CPUs/tasks: {} (detected by 1, t=1206716 jiffies)
Mar 21 15:12:40 localhost kernel: [ 4641.331428] INFO: Stall ended before state dump start
Mar 21 15:15:40 localhost kernel: [ 4821.440066] INFO: rcu_preempt detected stalls on CPUs/tasks: {} (detected by 0, t=1260749 jiffies)
Mar 21 15:15:40 localhost kernel: [ 4821.440080] INFO: Stall ended before state dump start

And so, every 3 minutes. Cannot stand it anymore. I was willing to help, but I can't stand that crashing bug anymore.

Sorry for not being more helpful here, but since a week or so, networkmanager is the crappiest software I've ever seen.

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

report it upstream, join #nm @ freenode and talk with dcbw. be more implied to report bugs upstream.

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

Known upstream : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=668286

Already reported : https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/27281

For others bugs (like nautilus one or evolution one), I will set up a virtual machine asap.

Sorry for my rude language, but it drives me crazy.

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

Weird. Cannot reproduce nautilus bug in a virtual machine. Evolution bug is still alive.

But  I got a bug when trying to add a google account as online account. Only gmail is shown. After that,  I got an error saying - translating from my french version : "Error when creating account" and under "Error obtaining identity : unauthorized"

Reported upstream : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=672579

At least, one bug which bites the dust today. Will modify the info, saying it is fixed in 3.3.92.1.

By the way, do you think rebuilding gnome-keyring against gnutls 3.0.17 will help "killing" evolution bug ?

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

Anyone have issues with tracker and/or gnome documents? I had all the local pdf and doc files available in gnome documents. After enabling online (gnome) accounts and upgrading to the latest version, I lost all those files. Now only my online files are displayed in gnome documents. I tried disabling and removing the online settings (just to make sure), but local files are still missing.

I tried removing the tracker db and restarting it. But did not help. Seems there is issue with tracker also where it fails extracting.

All the bugs are reported upstream.

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

Annoying bug in empathy 3.3.92 : cannot add gtalk account from a freshly created profile.

Account datas are OK. But when I click on "Connect", nothing happens. All telepathy plugins are installed. No errors are shown sad

Any ideas ?

Saw the same, but closing my session and opening it again makes gnome-documents working.

Stinks like a gnutls bug.

Done some search on my previous reported bug :

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=659178 and it was a gnutls bug. Same story again ?!

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

Until next monday, I won't be able to report any bugs against gnome-unstable. I "downgraded" to gnome 3.2.x because I have some work to do. Sorry for the delay, but I have to use a stable gnome for now.

As packages of gnome 3.4 are built, I can say that evolution is still broken with google calendar. Bug known : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=672521

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

i don't believe is a gnome bug. you should redirect the issue to gnutls developers

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

Well, I will do this asap and report upstream bug reference.

Done : https://savannah.gnu.org/support/index.php?108004

I hope it will help fixing this bug.

Well, looks like you need to rebuild gnutls against new glib-networking.

i don't really get you, really.

you are in gnome 3.4, glib-networking is at 2.31.22-1 and it was rebuilt against new gnutls 3.0.17.

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

Well, just look at gnutls bug report you can find here : https://savannah.gnu.org/support/index.php?108004

I just don't understand why evolution doesn't want to synchronize. Or maybe I'm "unlucky" here. Just give up. Don't get an headache about this.

Edit : I was reported bug under a virtualbox virtual machine. Same on my freshly updated  real archlinux.

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

After adding the gnome-unstable repository, updating all packages and logging out and back in, all my windows are now using some really old Gnome 2-ish window decorations. Gnome 3 decorations still worked back in Gnome 3.2. Any ideas whose bug it is?

Re: gnome 3.4beta2 in gnome-unstable

I tried installing Gnome 3.4, but after logging in it just shows the wallpaper and doesn't load the shell or anything. Removing gnome-unstable and reinstalling Gnome 3.2 makes everything work.

Any idea on how I can get some useful log messages? Tried the GDM log but there wasn't anything useful.
