After recent upgrade of udev (181-5), i think, i have this strange problem. Whenever i press volume up/down i get this crackling sound. I have enabled tsched=0. If i comment "load-module module-suspend-on-idle" in /etc/pulse/default.pa the problem goes away but then sound card doesn't go in suspend mode, ergo power saving is limited (i have laptop). I have KDE, kmix.
I have also noticed that every time i started new application the volume changed. I fixed the problem according to wiki - uncommenting flat-volumes = no.
If i open pavucontrol the problem goes away, but when i close it and issue "pulseaudio -k" the problem reappears.

I 'm not an expert, but why do you think this pulseaudio error is related to udev?
If udev is the issue, you can try downgrading it.

Ok, udev is not the problem here. I downgraded it and the problem still exist. I downgraded xf86-videovdev also and the problem persist.
