For some reason when I insert usb stick in my netbook it mounts it well under /media/USB but not showing on desktop. I have the "Removable Devices" option enabled under Desktop/Icons dialog. I use ntfs-3g package and added fuse to my rc.conf file. Also I use /etc/udev/rules.d/ created rules from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Udev Before this I've tried doing autofs, but that does not not work for me at all on this netbook. I've done this same thing on my desktop and it worked well. What could be the problem, that I don't have icons on my desktop when usb mounts ?

What WM or DE are you using?
If it is gnome-shell, it needs some extensions.

install thunar-volman if you haven't done already.
Go to desktop preferences and enable the removable devices option.
