where is the xv package?
What is the name of the package that contains the xv program?
Is it in the repository at all? It's non-free.
Waht else (non-KDE, non-Gnome) could I use instead of
xv -root -quit somepic.jpg

I actually use it for viewing images and setting my desktop background.... the thumbnailing leaves something to be desired though
