xf86-video-ati-6.14.4-1-x86_64 doesn't work (SOLVED in 6.14.4-2)

I just did the upgrade on my 64 bit machine using a Radeon HD 5750 (green series) vga card with 2560x1600 resolution.

X starts without any warnings or errors in the log but i see only some quirks on top of the screen and the mouse cursor is a huge square. sad

I downgraded to the previous version xf86-video-ati 6.14.3-2 and all works fine again.

Anybody else has this effect, especially with a 57xx graphics card?

Thanks in advance, LW.

I'm having the same problem here with the Radeon HD 4650. I am also running 64-bit.

Confirmed with HD3100, workaround is to downgrade xf86-video-ati.
Hopefully will get fixed soon.

Same problem on r300 i686.

Also, X screws up the console.  When I leave X I get a blank screen.  It's not xf86-video-ati that causes this, because after downgrading to 6.14.3 this problem persists...

I do not have an issue with X starting. Boot all works perfectly.

As soon as I switch ftom vt7 to vt1-6, X is killed. If I pkill X, X refuses to re-start.

Thank you for the link to the bug report. It was correct, simply using the ABS to build and install the xf86-video-ati package myself fixes the problem.
