Trying to get a new network install up and running on this laptop but cannot get X to load. I get "No screens found"

This chipset requires a kernel module version of 1.8.0.

that this driver was built with support for KMS.

I tried disabling KMS by adding "radeon.modeset=0" and tried the alt of "radeon.nomodeset" to /boot/grub/menu.lst however this did nothing.
Edited 20-radeon.conf and later created xorg.conf to look like this:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Radeon"
Driver "radeon"
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
EndSection
Current driver is xf86-video-ati ver 6.14.4-1
Ive done everything I can think of plus did some searching but did not come up with anything i could understand or try myself. I need some help.

Its the ATI video. the forums are already full with the same issue.

Thats a negative. pacman says "there is nothing to do"
This is a network install that was done yesterday so i would think everything is up to date.

You can update it when the ATI update reaches your mirror.
May be your mirror is slow.
