ViM-Powerline with Inconsolata

Did anyone get ViM-Powerline working with Inconsolata? I installed ViM-Powerline with Vundle and followed the readme in vim-powerline/fontpatcher:
I...

  • applied '$ python2 ./fontpatcher' to /usr/share/fonts/TTF/ttf-inconsolata.otf,

  • moved the resulting ttf-inconsolata-Powerline.otf to ~/.fonts/,

  • updated my URxvt*font to xft:Inconsolata-Powerline,

  • ran $ fc-cache -vf,

  • restarted my whole X server (to also restart urxvtd),

  • updated vimrc with 'let g:Powerline_symbols = 'fancy' ',

  • cleared the Powerline cache in ViM.

The result looks similar to what somebody posted on the GitHub Wiki for Powerline fontpatched fonts (which is also mentioned on Powerline's GitHub): https://a248.e.akamai.net/assets.github … 352e706e67

Any ideas what is missing there?
