Disabling touchpad except for two-finger scroll.

I have a Thinkpad X220 and mostly use the trackpoint for navigating. I would like to turn off the touchpad except for two-finger scrolling.

Has anyone done this and can explain how I could set up xorg.conf?

I don't think it's even possible. I mean, what makes you think it's doable?

(apart from hacking the driver to ignore all other events, I've never seen setup options that could achieve this)

I think you're best bet is going to be playing with the Synaptics Client settings until you get something that's functionally equivalent: use some combination of number of fingers on the touchpad, time-out-relative-to-typing, and sensitivity.
