Hehe, I should try this one once in my life. I really feel you, I've never found a window manager that is really flawless. Each of the ones I tried had atleast one problem (some even major ones). It's funny, the wmfs2 shot you posted on the previous page made me switch to that and I loved it. Got it all set up and I was sure it's going do be the last tiling window manager I'd ever use, until I tried a fullscreen flash (which I depend on for my TV series streaming needs). Didn't work, I would just get an empty gray window. Looked for help on their channel and I got ignored, asked twice, people were active (including the developer...) and all I got was ignore. I despise people like that. Keep you damn window manager, there's plenty of wmfish in the sea smile

Back on dwm for now and will probably give awesome a shot for its money,

Shots show dwm, urxvt, tmux, weechat, mutt, Emacs and, well, nethack
Xdefaults theme is a slightly modified version of jasonwryan's (the best colors I've seen, ever).
dwm colors, same as above.
Emacs color theme is Solarized light
The Terminal and Emacs font is the only font that I see myself using, ever: EnvyCodeR
tZGFkdw
tZGFkeA
tZGFkeQ
tZGFkeg

Re: April 2012 Screenshots

WMFS2 is still under heavy developing, so it's normal to find out some bugs, and the developers themselves don't know the answer sometimes....i still love WMFS2 but i want to wait until it reach a good level of development, so i've come back to the first tiling wm i've tried and i'm really enjoying it! It's so stable, and even if its code changes periodically it is still simple and there are many wikis, faqs and supporters...

Have used it since ~2 to ~3 versions.  But now using dwm about 2 years already.  Well awesome has very nice features and pretty wide community, it has lots of additional libs, which can be used in your work.  Awesome describes own title for sure, but dwm is for me.

No cause is lost if there is but one fool left to fight for it.

I can understand that, but he could have just said that instead of ignoring me when I have a serious problem. That's how you keep users close until you reach a good stage, not by ignoring them. Oh well, they lost one user, not that much.

I know I have to try but one quick question. Are these wm - awesome, dwm, etc. projected for developers only or they work very well for regular users (panel and icon whores) too?

Basicly wm only stands for Window Manager. Most of them work with most panels, but you have to setup it on your own.  It is described in the Window manager articale in the wiki.

Many window managers used here are mainly controlled by the keyboard instead of the mouse — and there's a correlation between "is a developer" and "prefers the keyboard". But they're not for developers only smile
