[Solved]:Pacman error: database 'core' is not valid

Hi All,

I issued pacman -Syu yesterday late at night but because it had a linux upgrade, I cancelled it to do it at leisure.

But when I give pacman -Syu today, i'm getting the following error:

[root@archblacky blacky]# pacman -Syu
error: GPGME error: No data
error: GPGME error: No data
error: GPGME error: No data
error: GPGME error: No data
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
multilib is up to date
error: database 'core' is not valid (invalid or corrupted database (PGP signature))
error: database 'extra' is not valid (invalid or corrupted database (PGP signature))
error: database 'community' is not valid (invalid or corrupted database (PGP signature))
error: database 'multilib' is not valid (invalid or corrupted database (PGP signature))

I searched the forums, but similar problems occured only during the initial stages of pacman 4, but I have been using pacman the past couple of months without any issues.

Have i messed up any file? please advise. Thanks!

Re: [Solved]:Pacman error: database 'core' is not valid

Yep...
Name           : gnupg
Version        : 2.0.19-1

But the problem is solved.

Apparently, the database had really been corrupted by a connection error.

Issued a

pacman -Syy

followed by

pacman -Syu

and pacman is alive and kicking again.!
