vlc now uses more CPU ?

I have just noted that vlc seems to now be using 10% CPU to do the same task it used to with just 4%. This is since the latest upgrade of vlc about 2 weeks ago.

All I use vlc for is the command line version (cvlc) to stream a couple of Internet radio stations to listen to while I am doing my web browsing. In the past I know for a fact it used 4%, now it is up to 10%.

Anyone have any idea why this might be the case?

Re: vlc now uses more CPU ?

Just as a guess I'd say it's due to the upgrade. I would imagine that the changes in the code base increased CPU usage.
