I just discovered that TRIM does not work on my machine (Macbook Pro 7,1 with Crucial SSD)
Google tells me that the apple-firmware puts the sata-controller in IDE-compatibility-mode, resulting in TRIM never reaches the drive
This exact issue has been solved for machines with nvidia mcp79:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=127611
unfortunately, I have nvidia mcp89: (lspci -vv)
00:0a.0 IDE interface [0101]: NVIDIA Corporation MCP89 SATA Controller [10de:0d85] (rev a2)Does anyone know where the exact values (setpci -d 10de:xxxx 9c.b=06) used in the 79-solution came from or how to find out the values for my chipset?
Thanks in advance
