I know I have to try but one quick question. Are these wm - awesome, dwm, etc. projected for developers only or they work very well for regular users (panel and icon whores) too?
I'm not a dev and I use DWM every day. It's just simple and easily to have your windows managed automatically

I'm pleased you liked it. Well to have the open tasks indicated by such arrows go in the plasmoid's settings and in the appearence tab set "style":"use indicators" or sth like that. Hope I've helped.
