For Openbox, have you considered the inclusion of obmenu,nitrogen,lxappearance,gmrun?

For Accessories, have you considered the inclusion of geekie,scrot,leafpad,bluefish,rxvt-unicode?

For System Tools, have you considered the inclusion of gparted?

For Internet, have you considered the inclusion of chromium,uzbl-browser?

Keep up the great work!

Thx for the tips,

Obmenu, nitrogen, lxappearance were alrdy there. now i include gmrun, geekie, scrot and rxvt-unico, but only in openbox apps. Added bluefish, gparted and chromium, also.

Re: [Script] Archlinux Ultimate Install Script

Congratulations on this great script!
Here is some feedback from a real hardware install;

1. I had a problem running the script as per instructions at the top of the thread;
- Install git: `pacman -S git`
- get the script: `git clone git://github.com/helmuthdu/aui.git`
- run the script: `./aui`
-> aui is a directory?

I was able to run the script by using the copy on my usb stick.

2. gmrun typo - gmrum

3. htop is listed as number 2 but is in fact number 3 in the selection list.

4. gnome-pie error - 'confiruring incomplete,errors occurred ERROR: A failure occurred in the build'

5. ttf-google-webfonts - mercurial error? install halted...flashing cursor...

6. Should Google Chromium be called Chromium?

Re-booted to Openbox with no issues.

Ok, lets do a checklist:
1 - Updated README
2 - Fxed typo
3 - Fixed numbers in select
4 - its a package problem, not dat much i can do
5 - A update the select with a better warning, this package REALY take a while to install (>20min)
6 - Agree, renamed to chromium

Thx for the feedback.

Hack the silly script to call su/sudo when needed instead of being executed as root. Or hack it to drop privileges when it tries to build anything.

It alreadey does dat, all packages installed with aur are executed with: su -l $USERNAME --command="yaourt -S $PACKAGE"

Afnaf, what the problem you had to install yaourt!?!? The command is executed as an normal user then u need to enter your sudo password

su -l $USERNAME --command="
wget http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/yaourt/yaourt.tar.gz;
tar zxvf yaourt.tar.gz;
cd yaourt;
makepkg -si --noconfirm;
cd ..;
rm -fr yaourt*

Would it be fine to have yaourt/package-query installed from the archlinuxfr repository instead of the AUR?

This repository is just too dangerous, it is outdated and may kill your system.

Re: [Script] Archlinux Ultimate Install Script

@ helmuthdu
I tried to run your script on archbang fresh installation, it does not work, apparently it writes over pacman.conf and removes all " # " (remarks) from the file causing many errors...
Am I doing something wrong or the script is not supported on archbang?
TIA

I didnt had test it with archbang, it was made for archlinux only, BUT, it should work fine.
Theres a backup file in any case at /etc/pacman.conf.aui
The only part of the code dat manipulate pacman.conf file is this:

    #if arch is x86_64
    if [[ $ARCHI == x86_64 ]]; then
        #get the line number of mutilib repo
        local multilib=`grep -n "\[multilib\]" /etc/pacman.conf | cut -f1 -d:`
        # uncomment dat line
        sed -i "$multilib s/^#//g" /etc/pacman.conf
        # get the line number and + 2
        local multilib=$(( $multilib + 2 ))
        # uncomment dat line
        sed -i "$multilib s/^#//g" /etc/pacman.conf
        pacman -Sy
    fi

EDIT: I have made some changes:

        sed -i "$multilib s/^#//g" /etc/pacman.conf
        #To
        sed -i "${multilib}s/^#//g" /etc/pacman.conf

Check if still uncomment all lines...

I tried again, just downloaded and ran the latest script, same problem... I think it is because the default archbang installation does not have multilib references in pacman.conf

This the final part of pacman.conf.aui (original)

Re: [Script] Archlinux Ultimate Install Script

I have made some changes:

        sed -i "${multilib}s/^#//g" /etc/pacman.conf
        #To
        sed -i "${multilib}s/^#//" /etc/pacman.conf

It should now just uncomment the first line found.

I tried again, same problem, all lines become uncommented...
I'll try to remove the reference to multilib in my arch install and see what happens...
I have sent an email to you with original archbang pacman.conf

Make sure you have the last commit
I dont see how this still can happening. Try to exec this command and see if still uncomment all:

cat /etc/pacman.conf | sed '3s/^#//'

it should just uncomment the line 3...
