[solved] Fails to resume from hibernation ("no device specified")

When I boot the laptop from hibernation, there is a line at the beginning of the boot sequence saying "Resume: no device specified for hibernation".
The documentation says to edit /boot/grub/grub.cfg, which doesn't exist on my computer. grub IS in /boot/grub, though. Where do I need to go to specify the swap partition?
