After a recent system upgrade, certain youtube videos result in blue screen in Chrome. This is not the blue tint problem that others are having, the entire web page itself is one solid blue color. It only happens for certain videos, and always the same ones. I cannot find a pattern as to why some are blue, and some are fine. I have disabled hardware acceleration(i'm using nvidia) and the issue does not show up when I use Firefox at all. Any ideas?

it may be related very much to this:

You can bet it's almost certain if you're using nvidia.
Quickly check by right clicking in the middle of the video and going to settings, and disabling hardware acceleration. Once you do that refresh the video.
PS: the thread I linked you to is falsely marked as solved. this issue is more than likely do to adobe's incompetence, but with that said the thread does provide some hacks / work arounds which may help cope with this issue.

Does the same happen if you go to another flash video site? E.g. Vimeo

Sounds similar to what's being discussed here (/dev/nvidiactl permissions issue).
Burninate!

Switch YouTube to htm5 and it goes away.

And yes.... Similar, except I didn't see the video at all. Just the blue screen.
