Hi there:
I will reinstall my system and will take the occasion to clean some packages that are on base, but aren't necessary. This topic says that e2fprogs is necessary, but does not seem true when compared with util-linux, who seems to do everything e2fsprogs does, and more. I'm right?
Thanks beforehand.

krb5 (among other things) depends on e2fsprogs, and many things depend on that. So chances are you really need it.

I think the dependences management of Linux systems is almost perfect. If krb5 depends on e2fsprogs pacman should take care of it, not me. A different case is what falconindy explains, so I'll keep e2fsprogs.
Thanks again
