Yeah, basically the taskbar/panel and the konqueror icon - I was laughing cos I know you hate big DEs, rather than because you "couldn't" tell

Bah, I can emulate the look in something smaller... that icon set will work in idesk (is that still around?) or rox or fbdesk or whatever the crap icon program you want to use... and I'm sure one of the panel apps can emulate the panel like that (maybe not the fading text w/o some hacking)

it's been solely KDE on my computers for the last 4 years but a few exceptions when i try afterstep here and there. i like it cos it's real slick the way how i use it and i can configure the look and feel of it into something i like in about 5 minutes. that "theme" was done in about 2 minutes. the mod of the default bmp skin took way longer for example. it's all made up with the stuff that comes with kdebase and kdeartwork, plus a wallpaper i modded and a few other minor tweaks.

Kind of creeped me out to see "Jon B" in your kicker... then I remembered there was a singer with the same name and all was good.  smile

I like KDE because of the massive integration (which results in speed).

Mmm fvwm... I added menus, a mpd control in the dock, and other nice things so I thought I'd update my screenshot. I also have the fvwm config posted here.

Re: August 2005 Arch Screenshots

I just installed Arch today and this is what it looks like:

I really enjoy Arch so far, even though I have some font issues and rxvt-unicode feels _really_ slow :

Well, because I haven't done this yet... here's my screeny, in "busy" format (because clean would just be a wallpaper)... for the record, this is ratpoison, and I usually don't use it like this...

When did ratpoison start doing the transparent bgimg stuff? I don't remember that. `Course, it's been a couple years since I used it but... odd.

I can feel Mandelbrot somewhere getting pissed off again. Of course, it don't take much to get him pissed.

That was an accident while playing around with KDE themes, they just came from somewhere, fixed that one already, perhaps I can horrify you again next month.. wink
