Another issue
using hwdetect in te setup
/etc/mkinitcpio.conf
Hoke is a blanck HOOKS=""
filed manualy
exit
error encounter in HOOKS (since only copu the "default" HOKS in the example avove the comments in the file
return to mkinitpio.conf all ok
finish
returno to the las oiption and using hwdetect
HOOKS is again empty

All Archboot GRUB2 users:

The syntax for installing grub2 (both bios and uefi) changed in 2.00beta{1,2,3}. What existed in 1.99 was actually a hack and the command used in 2.00beta3 is the proper one. The setup script in 2012.01-1 iso works only with 1.99 release. The script in the git repo has been updated to work with grub2 2.00beta3.

So either you have to use local grub2 packages (1.99) or if you want to install grub2 2.00beta3, you need to update the setup script as well. To update the setup script in existing iso.

(CWD) - dir containing archlinux-2012.01-1-archboot.iso

1. Install grub2-efi-x86_64, libisoburn, syslinux
2. Copy https://bitbucket.org/the_ridikulus_rat … ller/setup to (CWD)/setup
3. Copy https://bitbucket.org/the_ridikulus_rat … ate-iso.sh to (CWD)/archboot-update-iso.sh
4. (Optional) _REMOVE_i686="0" in (CWD)/archboot-update-iso.sh (to retain i686 files)
5. Run "sudo (CWD)/archboot-update-iso.sh (CWD)/archlinux-2012.01-1-archboot.iso"

Updated iso will be saved at (CWD)/archlinux-2012.01-1-archboot_updated.iso .

@the.ridikulus.rat, the thread is not short , and I can't verify that if we already have an workable archboot iso image can be dd'ed to a usb stick can work with ASUS UX31 very well now. I just have a UX31 , and want to install Arch into it.

Ah, great, I was struggling with some grub2 error for few hours. I had issues like "grub-mkdevicemap: No such file or directory". I assume your solution fixes that? But the problem is that, right now i do not have working installation of Arch.
I also tried following wiki information about installing grub2 but i have some issue with efivars. grub-install command fails with message: Try loading efivars, or sth like that. But calling "modprobe efivars" does not fix it
