Arm Arch on Raspberry Pi

Hi, I am using the Arch ARM OS in qemu (while I wait for my Raspberry Pi).
I have installed jwm, but when I try to launch it, I get the message "no display".
I am guessing it has something to do with xorg.conf.
I am new to Arch and i'd appreciate some help!
thanks,
mark

Re: Arm Arch on Raspberry Pi

This is the wrong forum, we don't provide support for ARM.

Re: Arm Arch on Raspberry Pi

It's not about Raspberry Pi, but it may interest some people as an "R-Pi alternative": Making An Easy-To-Setup $50 Linux Multi-Seat Computer - Phoronix article with links to that company's website and Kickstarter page.

If someone wants to discuss it, please open a separate thread.

Re: Arm Arch on Raspberry Pi

Today my Raspberry Pi arrived.
As I use Arch on my work PC, I wanted to have the same OS on my Raspberry Pi.
So I installed ArchLinuxARM (from www.archlinuxarm.org) and it works ok.

Arch only supports i686 and x86_64, so ArchLinuxARM is considered as a derived distribution?
Is it possible to install Arch Linux on the ARM processor yourself, e.g. compile it from source?

Is there any documentation available about the differences between Arch Linux & ArchLinuxARM?

I prefer the Raspberry Pi as it's cheaper and IMHO has better specs smile
