My laptop doesn't suspend when lid is closed !
I have set suspend values in gnome-tweak-tool but seems it's not working !
I had no problem in GNOME 3.2 !
thanks in advance ...
SOLUTION: [Thanks to Munken] reverting to gnome-settings-daemon to 3.2.2-1 fixes the problem..

Have you got an external monitor connected to the laptop? I believe that they changed things for Gnome 3.4, so that now the laptop does not suspend if a monitor is connected. I can't find the link, though.

No there isn't any external monitor connected to my laptop ! It's just it's internal LCD !

Then I'm out of ideas

Can you suspend your laptop by any other method? e.g. the menu in the top right.
I presume if it's since the upgrade to 3.4 you will be able to and the issue is with the close triggering it. Just want to rule out the chance that your laptop is trying to suspend and failing. Some logs would be useful too.

Yes, I can suspend my computer from the right corner menu !
Ofcourse the problem is triggering the suspend action ! But I don't know how and where to fix it !
which log do you want ?!

Same Problem here. Suspend works except when closing the lid.
Screen gets locked when lit is closed.

I have this feature too - suspend only works from the menu, not when closing the lid. I've found this ubuntu bug about the issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/947095 and appearently they got it fixed. As yesterday my notebook almost burnt down in its case (I assumed it suspended), I hope it will get fixed for us soon too

Confirm. I have the same problem. My laptop suspends when I'll use suspend option from corner menu, but it is not working when lid is closed.

I have exactly the same problem...
Hope it get fixed soon...

it won't be fixed if is not reported to the right bugtracker. hint bugzilla.gnome.org
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

that's not the right fix. with that one, you basically broke some panels from gnome-control-center.

Is there a solution yet? Thread is marked as solved but it really isn't?
Installing and configuring acpi feels more like a workaround than a solution: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Acpid

I agree, downgrading gnome-settings-daemon to 3.2.2-1 is not a permanent solution .! ! This thread should really not be marked as solved.
I still have the same exact same problem, and nothing happens on the bugtracker.
I have tried to supply them with info, but it is still listed as NEEDINFO..
I am totally new to bug trackers. Maybe someone with more knowledge could check if the bug is listed correct. ? ?
Any help would be appreciated. I do not like the idea of Acpid either.

I am trying to reopen the issue here.

So as of today i declare this thread as officially dead!
